Terms of service

Last updated: October 14, 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Adrenaline Technology ("we", "us") for the use of ChorePoints. By making an account or using the app, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the app.

They are short because the app is simple: it is free, it takes no payment, and nothing a family puts in it is published anywhere. Our privacy policy covers what we store and who can see it, and it is part of these terms.

Who can use ChorePoints

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account for yourself. To create a family, or to hold the Parent role in one, you must be 18 or older and the parent or legal guardian of the children in it. We ask for a date of birth before the sign-up form, and the answer stays in your browser — see the Privacy Policy for what that means.

A child under 13 can only have an account that their parent sets up for them, from inside the family, with the Parent PIN. A child can't create one. Those accounts use a username rather than an email address, because the app never asks a child for an address and never collects one.

Children don't need an account at all. A child can take part through a profile that a grown-up in their family creates; the account only exists so they can sign in on their own device.

If you set up a profile or an account for your child, you are telling us you are their parent or guardian and that you agree to these terms and the privacy policy on their behalf. You keep control of that account — you can change its password or delete it at any time from inside the app. You are responsible for what the people in your family do in the app.

Your account

Keep your password to yourself and tell us if you think somebody else has it. Icon PINs are a convenience for a household, not a security measure — they stop a younger sibling approving their own chores, and they are not meant to keep out somebody determined. Don't use one anywhere it would matter if it were guessed.

You can delete your account yourself, at any time, from the Account page. We can suspend or close an account that is being used to abuse the app or other people, or that breaks these terms.

What you put in the app

The chores, rewards, names, notes and points your family creates are yours. You give us permission to store them and show them back to the people in your family, which is what running the app consists of. We don't claim ownership of any of it, we don't publish it, and we don't use it to train anything.

Don't put anything in the app that you don't have the right to, and don't use it to harass anyone. Don't try to break it, get at other families' information, or run it through scripts and scrapers. Links you add to rewards are yours to be responsible for.

What it costs

ChorePoints is free today, and every feature works the same whether or not you have given us anything. If we ever charge for something, we will say so clearly before you pay, and we will never start charging for something you already have without telling you first.

The support page has ways to help cover what it costs to run, including a link to Amazon that earns us a small commission. Nothing in the app unlocks or changes if you use them.

We may show advertising in the app in future. If we do, it will follow the rules for a service children use, and we will say so in the privacy policy before it starts.

What we promise, and what we don't

We run ChorePoints carefully and we want it to work. But it is provided as is, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. We don't promise the app will always be available, that it will never lose data, or that it is free of faults.

Please don't let the app be your only copy of something that matters. We take backups, but a chore history is not a bank statement and we can't promise to have it forever.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data or lost profits, arising out of your use of the app. Where we are liable, our total liability to you is limited to the greater of what you have paid us in the last twelve months (which is normally nothing) or 100 US dollars.

Some places don't allow some of these exclusions. Where that's true, they don't apply to you, and nothing here takes away a right you have that can't be given up.

Stopping

You can stop using ChorePoints whenever you like, and delete your account from the Account page. The app will refuse to delete an account that is the last parent who can approve anything in a family, so that the rest of the family isn't locked out — hand that role to somebody else first, or write to us.

We can stop offering the app, or close an account that breaks these terms. If we are shutting the whole thing down, we will give you notice and a way to get your family's information out first.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms we'll update the date at the top. If a change actually matters, we'll say so in the app rather than hoping you re-read this page. Carrying on using ChorePoints after a change means you accept it.

The legal bits

These terms, together with the privacy policy, are the whole agreement between us about ChorePoints. They are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and any dispute goes to the state or federal courts for Madison County, Illinois.

If part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands. If we don't enforce something straight away, we haven't given it up. You can't transfer your account or these terms to somebody else; we can transfer them if the app changes hands, and we'd tell you.
